Genghis Khan establishes the Mongol Empire in the year 1206

In the year 1206, Genghis Khan is elected as Khagan of the Mongols and the Mongol Empire is established.
In the year 1207, Terra Mariana (comprising present-day Estonia and Latvia) is established as a principality of the Holy Roman Empire (Feb 2), Jochi, eldest son of Genghis Khan, subjugates people of the Siberian forest, extending the northern border of the Mongol Empire, and King John introduces the first income tax in England.
In the year 1208, Swedish forces under Prince Eric defeat the Danish-backed King Sverker II, and Eric becomes the King of Sweden as Eric X (Jan 31), a disastrous fire breaks out in Hangzhou in China leads the government of Song Dynasty to provide temporary lodging, cash and rice (Apr 15), the Crusader Livonian Brothers of the Sword initiate raids in southern Estonia, resulting in Estonian fight for independence.
In the year 1209, settlers from Bristol celebrating Easter Monday are massacred in Dublin by warriors of the Irish O’Byrne clan (Apr), the University of Cambridge is founded, the London Bridge is completed by a stone-arched structure and with houses on it to pay for part of the maintenance, and the Franciscan order of the Roman Catholic Church is founded by the Italian priest Francis of Assisi. 1209 Individual post
In the year 1215, the Magna Carta is sealed by John of England (Jun 15)

In the year 1230, Bulgarian tsar Ivan Asen II defeats the Emperor of Thessalonica, and quickly extends his control over most of Thrace, Macedonia, and Albania (Mar 9), (), the Teutonic Knights are invited into Prussia in order to forcibly convert the Prussians and Yatvags to Christianity, and the Sena Dynasty of Bengal falls.
In the year 1300, (), Turku Cathedral in Finland is consecrated (Jun 17), (), money from Florence becomes the first international currency, Amsterdam is officially declared a city, and Aztec culture starts in Mesoamerica (approximate date).
