Hi there! My name is Tarja Kivi, and I started with this site through Blogspot in 2008. As of March 2018 Journeys of Life is a Wordpress site. All the material has now been transferred to this site.

Who am I then?  I was born in Helsinki, Finland. Emigrated to Stockholm, Sweden in 1977 and lived there for 17 years. After which I lived a few months in Largo, Florida. Been back in Helsinki since 1995. I have two sons - now grown men - who help me sometimes with the technical side of the site since they both are computer nerds. Grateful for that of course.

The aim of this site is to make bonds through time - from us to them in the past, whether “they” are complete strangers or of our own flesh and blood. Journeys of Life is filled with details of people and places, and articles of all sorts - but always with people in the center of it all. This site is continually expanding, and my ambition is to make it well-known around the world.

It is also a site well worth visiting for genealogists. Anyone can have their ancestors' details inserted here by a simple request either through email or by a comment in the appropriate year.
