If you’d like to start with a new TV-series that you haven’t seen yet, Tyrant is definitely something worth recommending. The first episode aired in the United States back in 2014, but it doesn’t get antiquated. Not with the way things keep going in the Middle East.

The premise of this series is that Bassam “Barry” Al-Fayeed, a married pediatrician living in the United States, with son and daughter, is also the son of a Middle-Eastern tyrant. He has no desire to revisit his ancestral country, but is reluctantly compelled to return there for his nephew’s wedding. There he is quickly drawn into a taut political crisis.

Here below is the main cast of Tyrant, and true to Journeys of Life format, in chronological order. It is pretty international - just like how we people get spread allover the globe no matter where we originate from.
