When spring advances, and the puddles get smaller, it is interesting to see that what constituted a small obstabcle just a week ago or so, now seems like something we really want to avoid. And instead of just walking through it, we do perhaps our uttermost to avoid getting our shoes wet at all.

But when it comes to oceans, there is no way we get by by ourselves for there is just too much water between the dry lands. And our bodies, not being able to fly, need a vehicle to get over an ocean.
